B> INTERNATIONAL
COMPUTERS INDIAN MANUFACTURE (ICIM): From 1991 to 1994.
Nature of work:
Initially, I was handling
all the support activities of PC range of products.Also,
I was handling all the service support for Novell Networks including user
training, training to subordinates etc.
Worked for benchmarking
activities in the manufacturing facilities. This included setting up of
various system configurations(typically
on Unix Servers) at a very short notice, depending on the customer requirements.
Later on, I was responsible
for installation and support of DRS 3000, DRS 6000 and other UNIX servers.
This included 24 X 7 type of support for selected clients like TELCO. Give
second level support for Novell NetWare problems.Was
responsible for maintaining very high uptime for Novell Networks as well
as Unix servers.
Handled all the customer
trainings as well as in-house trainings for NetWare system administration.
As part of the training
program, I have received basic training on database products like Oracle,
Ingres and DBA training on Ingres.
Also handled various
projects. Brief outline is given below:
1. Banking: Design,
installation, implementation of Networks, Unix servers, RDBMS like Oracle,
Ingres etc. This was required for Total branch mechanization. Banks like
Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India etc. were covered for
full time support.
2. WIPO: World Intelligent
Properties Organisation (Patents office) in Nagpur.
Design, installation,
implementation of Network, Installation of Unix servers and dialup connectivity
was done for the project.
3. ICIM ISD (ICIM
Software Export division):
Complete planning,
designing, installation of the network, Unix servers and other equipment;
facilities management for the same; System administration, troubleshooting,
RDBMS installation, administration etc. There were around 150 machines
including 4 main Unix servers.

spares management, effective handling of customer calls and engineer allocation
which lead to higher customer satisfaction and higher revenue earning from
maintenance activities.

in the Hotels like The TAJ PALACE Hotel, Delhi, RAMBAUG PALACE Hotel, Jaipur
etc. Was also posted at ACC, Jamul (M.P.) for installation, service support
of Attendance Recording systems.
In the later stage,
I was posted as a resident engineer for Pune. Was responsible for support
activities in Pune.

SOFTWARE SKILLS

Involved in system
analysis and design for the following projects:
1.System
analysis and design work for“Customer
Support management software” for ICIM, Pune. Also actual coding of the
project was done single handedly.This
project was done as part of the MCM examination. Total project duration
was around 8 months.
2.Project
Management, System Analysis and Design for Inventory Management andWIP
system for an engineering company in Pune. This was a migration project.
Migration from exisiting Clipper and other combined environment to Foxpro
was done. I was involved in the interaction with the concerned functional
people and also the in-house MIS people from the Client. The project involved
4 programmers and duration was about 7 months.
3.Project Management, System Analysis and Design for WIP system for Multinational Plastics engineering Factory at Pirangut, Pune. My role was of Total Project Management including understanding client requirements, crystalising the specifications, reports etc, and System Analysis and Design. Interaction with the manufacturing head of the factory as well as other people in the stores department was also involved. Interface withthe existing Inventory and other systems was provided. Project work was carried out in Visual Basic with Access Database. Total project duration was around 8 months, which involved one programmer.

ACTIVITIES: 1.Founder
member and coach of PING PONG Club. We used to give Table Tennis coaching
to players. Following the principle of catch them young, our players perform
well and representedd District and State Teams.

was a Managing Committee Member of Poona District Table Tennis Association
for 5 years.Out of these five years,
I was Treasurer for three years. P.D.T.T.A. is the governing body
for all the Table-Tennis activities in Pune District which co-ordinates
with other District organisations and the State, national body.
