Professional Experience:
1. Comnet Systems. (1994 onwards)
Role: Proprietor.
Activities involved:
Implementation of ISMS towards achieving ISO 27001 certification. This includes policy framing, documentation, implementation from sysadmin point of view, awareness generation, training of processes and finally preparation for audit. (ISO 27001 certification) implementation. (eg. Vertex Software, Pune where I was a consultant for handling the System Administration department wherein we designed and implemented various processes for ISMS implementation. ISO 27001 certification was successfully received. Audit was conducted by BVQI )
System administration for the complete site with heterogeneous environment is provided.
Planning, installation, troubleshooting, administration and management of various versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems, various flavors of UNIX, Various distributions of GNU/Linux systems. This includes installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, securing various server applications like mail, proxy, directory services, web server etc. on various platforms.
Facilities Management, Network Design and Management etc.
Vendor management for clients. This includes selection of vendors, services and products. Setting up and implementation of processes, report generation and Monitoring as per SLA etc.
Web hosting, domain registration services are provided.
Training for networking and Linux is provided.
The clients handled are of various types in terms of human resources and also nature of business. Clients include individuals requiring PCs and web related services, Educational institutes requiring various services to setup their infrastructure and web services, IT companies requiring FMS , ISMS implementations, MNC engineering companies for operations support.
Suggesting and implementing IT security and also Suggesting, implementing Open Source product/services is a key business area.
2. Fujitsu ICIM (1991 to 1994)
Role: Senior level (L2, L3 and above) customer support for PC LANs, Unix servers. In charge of PC support activities.
Handled complete support network for PC business for the area. The support was direct company support and also support for the dealer service network. Conducting customer trainings and also in house trainings for technical matters. Handled a team of 8-10 L1/L2 support engineers.
Handled renowned and critical customers like Tata Motors, Thermax, Finolex, Premier Automobiles, SBI to name a few.
3. Hinditron Computers (1987- 1991)
Role: Senior Customer support engineer.
Handled complete support network for PC business for the area. The support was direct company support and also support for the dealer service network. Handled LAN installations and maintenance activities. The area under Pune office covered Pune, Satara, Kolhapur etc. Handled TPM (third party maintenance) services business. Team building and customer satisfaction was major activity, which was handled successfully.
4. Infoton Systems ( 1985-1987)
Role: Customer support engineer.
Was a resident engineer for Pune. Handled customers like Symbiosis, Thermax, Sakal papers etc. Also went to other places for sometime as resident engineer. Such customers included Taj group of hotels in Delhi, Jaipur. Installation of PCs, plotters, printers was main activity.
Other technical skills:
System Analysis and design: Involved in system analysis and design for various projects.
Teaching: Visiting Faculty for various post graduate courses from Pune and Symbiosis University. Subjects include ISMS, FOSS (Free/Open Source Software)/Linux and networking.
Knowledge of cyber law, IPRs, software licensing.
Educational Qualification: B.E.(Electrical), D.B.M.(Diploma in Business Management), M.C.M.(Masters in Computer Management) from Pune University

Certification: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
Training: Lead Auditor’s course for ISO 27001:2005 (IRCA Approved). Course conducted by DNV India.
Diploma in Cyber law from Symbiosis University. (Did not appear for exam)
Extra Curricular Activities:
Actively involved in promoting FOSS (Free and Open source Softwares). Participate in various events/seminars/workshops for promotion of FOSS. I am coordinator and Secretary of PLUG (Pune Linux Users Group).
I am an amateur photographer and managing committee member of The Photographic Society of Pune.
I was Managing Committee Member of Pune District Table Tennis Association for 5 years. (and was Treasurer for about 3 years within that span)
Other achievements:
Some months back, BENEFIT magazine (from the Linux for you/ Electronics for you magazines group) carried an article on me. They had started a new session on consultants and I was the first one to appear in the session. Benefit magazine is primarily targeted towards SMEs (small and medium enterprises)
