Experience:

Overall 35 years.

35 years in IT industry in the areas of customer support to start with and then evolved to system administration, infrastructure management and further to information security.

Current activities primarily include consulting for ISO 27001 implementation, certification. Implementing information security for corporates and SMEs. Consulting/implementation of IT infrastructure management. This is typically for a mix technical environment of MS Windows and Linux based infrastructure. Some of the corporate names include Vertex software (now NTT Docomo), Dr. Reddy laboratories, ILFS etc

Synopsis:

Significant work experience with exposure to various complex technical scenarios and Information Security perspectives. High technical skills in various operating systems like Unix, Windows, Linux (multiple variants of all these OS) , access controls, firewalls, information security.

Technically strong leadership, keen learner and having effective communication skills – both verbal & written.

Ability to co-ordinate and drive heterogeneous teams to achieve the project objectives using the available manpower and technology .

Very strong presence and interaction in the respective domain communities, especially in Open source, Open knowledge and Information Security. Free/Open Source Software evangelist. Coordinating Pune Linux Users Group for about 2 decades. Active in Wikipedia activities. Was President of Wikimedia, India.

About 25 years of experience in academics that includes syllabus design, paper setting, teachers training programs and teaching post graduate students from Pune, Symbiosis University. Subjects are Operating Systems, Information Security, Risk Analysis, Systems Audit etc. Member of “Board of Studies” of Symbiosis University as domain expert in Information Security and allied subjects.
